I am 52 years old and want to play Clarinet as a way of relaxing. Blues, Jazz, and Country.
I have a Buffet E11 Clarinet.
What would you recommend for a mouthpiece and ligature?
I was thinking about a Morgan ProTone and a Vandoren Optimum ligature.

You really don't need to spend the extra cash on an optimum ligature. If you're beginning, there are inexpensive options that won't result in any noticeable loss in sound. As for the mp, I've played and liked Morgans, but the consensus seems to be that Clark Fobes makes the best beginner mouthpiece there is. He's so sure of it, he gives them away for free to music teachers to prove it, apparently. I would have to think that would be your best bet, and it isn't woefully expensive. There are many people on here better qualified to offer advice, of course; this is simply my opinion.

Be aware that Ralph Morgan's clarinet mouthpieces have a duckbill profile. It may or may not be to one's liking.
That being said, Ralph makes exceptionally fine professional level mouthpieces and is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable authorities on mouthpieces in the world.
( FWIW - I use both a C clarinet mouthpiece and an Eb clarinet mouthpiece which Ralph made for me.)
As for entry level mouthpieces, I steer my students towards either the Fobes Debut mouthpiece or the Hite Premiere. Both have carefully applied facings which are both consistant and reed friendly...GBK

As far as ligature goes, I believe a great, inexpensive one is the Gigliotti ligature. I would just recommend taking sandpaper and roughening up the ribs on the inside a bit (otherwise it tends to 'slide' up the mouthpiece when you tighten it). And the only caution is not to tighten it TOO much as you can snap the little plastic screws. But for 15 bucks, this lig REALLY performs well!
