Hey. I just got the Houston Symphony brouchure for the 04-05 season, and on one concert David Peck will be performing Weber Concertino and a clarinet concerto by Lavenda, which is listed as a Houston Symphony Commission.
Just curious if anyone has information on Lavenda (there is no first name listed) such as his/her style, other major works written, etc... Any information would be great.
It's great to see the Houston Symphony pumping up the clarinet! I wrote a post earlier this year wondering why symphonies never play or promote clarinet music... I may have spoken to soon.
