Today is the day.
I wish him contentment and enough air to blow out the 94 candles.

Let's not forget Joan Collins, who is 71 (one of the few women Artie didn't marry) ...GBK

Come on, GBK, let's get real!
Artie pursued women with zeal.
But his sampling was not in the millions,
although the supply was in the billions!
His restraint is remarkable, I feel!

It's really like riding a horse,
If you fall off, don't have remorse.
Artie Shaw would hear chimes,
He was married eight times.
But, each one would end in divorce ...GBK

I don't think he'd find these poems funny,
Poking fun at all his old hunnies.
But at the end of day,
All he has to say,
Is, "I've got a ____load of money."

Alexi

PS - Is/is it not true that he bought himself a ridiculously expensive watch EVERY week of his performing career? I heard this somewhere but can't remember if it was a RELIABLE source or not.

The story is true. Artie's collection of watches was ultimately stolen. Read all the details here: (about half way through the article)
