Furthermore, what everyone should know is that stronger reed does not equal a better player! It all depends on the player and their preferences. I, for example, use a 5+ V12 reed A lot of people when they hear this is very surprised however there is no need to be. I use a pyne mouthpiece that is fairly open and I have been doing sports for a long time, although I do not anymore. Also, different companies use different strength markings, as you probabily know already. When comparing the reeds do not just use one reed stregth chart. This is because different charts measure different parts of the reed. It is very helpful to find a few and compare. However, I tend to try not to think about reeds too much. It can give anyone a headache
