Can anyone with experience on both of these compare them? They seem to be the two most expensive and by their descriptions by people I've read, seem to be the "best 2".

I really like the Fobes. It is comfortable, easy to control, with a warm full tone. I used to own a Bay that I sold when I got my Fobes. I found the sound and feel preferable for me. The Bays are very good, but had a bit more edge than what I was aiming for. You can email or call Clark. He is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He can help you a lot, as an experienced BC player. You may also wish to try Walter Grabner. His bass mouthpieces are also very good.

i own a fobes mpc, his RR model, and it's great. he's VERY easy to talk to and really knows his stuff when it comes to mpc's. incidently, i also use his clarinet mpc that he makes w/a zinner blank [CF] and that one is great too. the response and projection on his bass mpcs work great in all kinds of performance venues, whether it's the opera pit orchestra or the symphony stage, the fobes is the way to go.
