Hi, has anybody heard the Premiere Rhapsodie for clarinet solo and orchestra actually played with an orchestra, I've gotten atleast three different recordings all played with clarinet and piano. Does anybody know of where I can find a recording with Clarinet and Orchestra?
Thank you
AJ

Lots of prominent clarinetists have recorded the rhapsody with an orchestra, including Stanley Drucker, Sabine Meyer, and Gervase de Peyer.

I actually have 2. Anthony Morf on "The Magic of the Clarinet" and Guy Dangain on "Debussy, Orchestral Works II" by EMI classics. Both are good recordings. The piano version is much better though, I think!

One of my favorite Premire Rhapsody versions would be Franklin Cohen and the Cleveland Orchestra. I believe this CD is widely available on the Deutsche Grammophon label.

So on Paul Meyer's "French Clarinet Art"
You'll find it with orchestra.
Word.
And quite a good recording. If you want to hear a truly great french sound that is pure and trained and a sense for music that is well done and completely felt, try this out!

And then there's way way back...
Benny Goodman with the NYSO (Barbioli conducting)...great playing...but different manners on how to play formal divisions...
