 Sealy Posturepedic
Author: Johnny Galaga

About 10 or 12 years ago there was a Sealy Posturepedic TV commercial where a guy was running around with a net trying to catch a black letter 'Z' that was floating around - as though he was trying to "catch some zzzzzz's".

During the commercial there was a Clarinet solo being played which I believe was in concert Eb Major.

Does anyone know what the name of that song was or who played it ?

Thanks.

Yes, the Bach Springs Concerto can be found on the Phillips' Bach for Bedtime CD. The Cello Soloist was Yo Mah Tress . mw

My brother, a physicist at SLAC spent many nights trying all night to catch some particles called Z's a few years back and piped a Somenix ad through the loudspeakers late one evening according to ledgend. They after all had claimed their product would help the consumer catch some Z's. I don't think this jingle had any clarinet in it.

The music in question was adapted from one of the themes in G. F. Handel's "Waterbed Music".

Johnny --

I do (sort of) remember the commercial.

Depending on how much time you want to spend on this, you could go to Sealy's web site, find their 800 number, call, and ask who their advertising agency is (or was at the time that commercial was airing). Then maybe someone at the agency would remember the ad and possibly have the information you are looking for.

It's a long shot, but since this apparently has been keeping you awake for several years . . .

Good luck in your search.

Todd W.
