I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what type of clarinet to get for someone who wants to begin playing the e-flat clarinet for the first time and has been playing the b-flat clarinet for about 8 or 9 years. I am looking for a nice clarinet that can still be played after this person becomes familiar with it, so possibly a beginner/amateur model? or amateur/advanced? Any suggestions would be fantastic, thank you.

Try to find an old Selmer Bundy Resonite Eb. They are indestructable and almost play as well as any "pro" instrument.

I like mine BUT get a *good mouthpiece*. They come with a student mouthpiece that generally plays very, very sharp for anyone with a decent embouchure. So far, I've tried a Vandoren 5RV on mine and like it a great deal.
