 Carl Fischer Clarinets
Author: leslieanne

Hi,
I am looking for info on a Carl Fischer Clarinet I have. It has a number 41296 on it. I'm interested in what kind of wood and metal it is made of. It also has what looks like an alligator leather case. I would also love to know what year it was made. I would appreciate any info especialy valve.
Thank You
Leslie

Wish I could tell you for sure Leslie, but can't. But Noblet issued those faux alligator cases years ago and may have made the Fisher horns.

I think lots of companies (including Buffet, for example) made stencil clarinets and saxes for Carl Fischer --- I don't know of any good way to determine the manufacturer for sure. As for the case, it's not a clue either --- that style was popular for a while amongst lots of makers -- for example most of my 1950's-60's Kohlert-Winnenden Germany clarinets came in faux-alligator cases, as did some Boosey & Hawkes (England) and Pruefer (USA) clarinets I have or had.
