Hi all,
Just finished rebuilding another old Buffet. This one is a full-Boehm from 1928 that has a one piece body. Here's a picture.

I've checked eBay listing. The serial number is incorrect. This clarinet was made before 1930 and not in 1960 as the seller claims. I wouldn't count on sterling silver keys either.
One piece FB is pretty rare clarinet.

I agree with Vytas. There is no adjustment screw on the G# that puts it in the mid 30s at the latest. (unless there is something I missed as I have a Buffet full Boehm w/o the adjustment screw from 1936).
The last number of the serial number given is probably a scratch.
German silver not silver keys.
The one I have has a nice round sound as I would expect from a horn of the period.
Strange though, the lowest two pads are big. 20mm.
It has two C# /G# tone holes. One for the articulated key and another for the sliver key.

I just stumbled across the listing for that instrument (the Ebay FB one-piece) while looking for something else -- not personally interested in buying it. I just thought it was curious, because I've never seen or heard of this variety of clarinet before, and now, I see two in one day.
But would you think that this one on Ebay is basically the same instrument that Mark J. has restored?

I have a one piece cocus wood Full Boehm (but without the low e flat), made c. 1920 and stamped Hawkes & Son. As Hawkes rarely made their own instruments it seems possible it is a Buffet that was bought by Hawkes to pass off as their own. No tone hole undercutting, c. 15 mm bore, plays with a very warm sound. A lovely instrument. If the Buffets discussed above are rare, then mine might even be unique!

No, it's not possible.
1. -15mm bore is just wrong for a pro Buffet.
2. -No tone hole undercutting is another thing Buffet never cared for.
No tone hole undercutting was Selmers idea/trade mark.
