what do you think about Peter Eaton´s mouthpieces? Intonation, sound, etc...and which is better ligature vandoren optimum or Rovner "dark"? every opinion would be greatly appreciated, bacause I´m considering on buying these.

I've got a Peter Eaton mpc on my Elite made by him. I love this clarinet - it's got a full and darkish sound, though I find the throat register can be on the sharp side.
I've got 6 other clarinets to compare it with now (soon to be 7, when my just-bought Selmer 10G A arrives from the USA next week!), and though I like and play on them all - I really enjoy all the little differences between them - the Elite sounds the most 'noble', if that makes sense!
But how much of the sound-quality is down to the mpc, and how much down to the clarinet?
I'd recommend Peter Eaton anyway - he's very helpful and pleasant. Why don't you get in touch with him directly - he's a sponsor of this BBoard!

As for ligatures - I recommend velcro. Cheap, effective and colourful! :)

I suggest trying both. No reason not to. You may like the Rovner better than the vandoren, whereas someone that answers you could like the vandoren better than the rovner. Then you've been led 'astray' due to someone's opinion. Especially when the only opinion that should matter is YOUR OWN![wink]

As for my opinion, I say it kinda matters on the mouthpiece. On the two mouthpieces I currently have, I like my metal ligature (not either of the ones listed above, but I'm talking about material here). The cloth ligature (a rovner that I have, plain sucked on them). On another mouthpiece I used to own, I liked the rovner. On THAT one, the metal lig I have sucked.

Conclusion . . . .
