 The Met

I listened to last night's broadcast of the Met's triple bill (Stravinsky). I must say there was some shoddy violin playing (Le Sacre) ... I know that Part 2 is very difficult rhythmically ... but ... that aside, it was a very raw and very earthy performance and the orchestra was (on the whole) fantastic.

however the Nightingale and Oedipus Rex were absolutely fantastic.

Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.
