Marcia asks: Parlay voo Fronsays??

Yes, I do.

The website refers to something I hadn't come across, the "Mac-Intyre" system in which the throat G# and A keys are absent, being replaced by "a specific utilisation of the rings". It was not a commercial success. Since the lower joints and bells were identical to those of conventional instruments, they were sold off with conventional upper joints.

Do any of our clarinet history experts know about this? Google on "clarinet Macintyre" and variants thereof turns up very little.

-----------

If there are so many people on this board unwilling or unable to have a civil and balanced discussion about important issues, then I shan't bother to post here any more.

To the great relief of many of you, no doubt.

David... If you do a search on "McIntyre" (note the spelling) on this board, you will find numerous discussions.

The Clarinet magazine Volume 28 Number 2 (March 2001) had an excellent illustrative article which you also may wish to read...GBK

McIntyre systems are very unique indeed. I've only worked on a couple of them, the last just a couple of years ago. They have quite a bit more adjustments than a Boehm.
