Anyone know what the exact tip opening of the Eddie Daniels mouthpiece is? I searched all over the net but can't find the measurements anywhere. The closest thing I can find is a quote from Eddie saying "it's closed but not too closed". Thanks

Hi:
I just spoke to Mr. Daniels this morning and the tip opening's zero point is 100 with deviations of 1 on either side. The MP's are hand faced.
Mr. Daniel's advice however is not to worry about tip openings, play the MP and if you like it, great, if not move on....g BTW, he told me he plays a standard #4 reed, whatever standard is.
Hope this helps

I really like the mouthpiece and have been playing it for about a year. I was just curious because a teacher I had said it would be harder to use V12 4's because the tip opening was larger for jazz playing although she said it sounded great for classical stuff. I didn't think it was that open. She thought it was I think because it has Eddie's name on it. It's actually quite a versatile piece. Thanks
