I was wondering what the difference between an A clarinet barrel and a Bb clarinet barrel was. If you have a 65 mm A barrel what's the difference with that and a 65 mm Bb barrel?

Many times they are reamed out differently. Not necessarily ALL the times, but most of the time.

Not to say that that means a Bb barrel won't work on an A clarinet. Cause I've heard of cases where people have found one barrel that works on both clarinets (and in turn makes switching mouthpieces from one clarinet to another very easy). But if there's an actual listing for "A" clarient and "Bb" clarinet barrels by the same maker, chances are they are reamed differently.

Only the internal bore diameter, as above, differs and not in all cases.
