 update/not playing

Hello first of all to Ron B. Yes, I am up and about and feeling a bit perkier than I was a few weeks ago. I saw my "regular" doc and asked why I was feeling so lousy. He assured me that feeling like I did after a heart procedure was quite normal. However, if I didn't feel like my old self in a few more weeks to let him know.

Thankfully Spring is slowly moving into the Upper Midwest. Seeing the sun again does help. I have not however touched my clarinets for almost a month now. I opted not to play in our local symphony's children's concert. I only play on one piece and decided to hand it off to someone else. My husband and I are taking a two week vaction next month to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversay and I was also going to miss two rehearsals. Many of our members think nothing of missing rehearsals, and that in my opinion is wrong of them.

The bruises are gone, finally. I still have a tender spot under my collarbone where they threaded one of the catheters into my heart. The bill for all of this? Twenty thousand dollars. I did the math on the tylenol they gave me in the hospital. The markup on them was 53 times. Wish we could all make that kind of profit. :)

I was looking to get a small heart shaped tattoo over the spot I just spoke of. Saw one that is perfect. It is a heart with a dollar sign on it.

Thanks again to all of you who sent me greetings.

Happy St. Patrick's Day,

Jean

You seem in much better spirits. Enjoy the spring.

It won't be long now and you'll be playing.

Better spirits indeed! Your sense of humour is back! Sounds like your strength will be coming back as well. Enjoy your two week vacation - let others do all your work for you - and congratulations on your 10th!

I echo the "Welcome Back" sentiments above, C M, it does take a while to recover from any surgical procedures. I had an angioplasty some 10+ years ago, nearly had bypass. Has worked out well, with the L's, C and F Lipitor [$'s], Lanoxin, chicken, fish, checkups, Good! Did lay off playing for a bit, limited strenuous activities and concluded that I was NOT indestructible. So, FWIW, our best wishes, play again before long. Don

Thanx, Mark, Don
