 Gran Partitta - Bliss

Absolute joy!

Thanks to a lot of organizing from some dedicated people (in particular, Dorothy Cotton from Kingston ON and "bassoniste extraordinare",) we now have our 13 players assembled to rehearse and perform Mozart Gran Partitta in one mad week-end April 17th.

For the purists out there, we will use one contra basson (from Kingston) and 4 Bb clarinets (I know, I know, it is not the same! still!).

There are several excellent posts and some useful links on this site about this marvelous piece. If anybody out there wants to add a few advises to the clarinet 1 player (yours truly...), do not be shy.

At any rate, this post is just to share my excitement at having the opportunity to play an incredible (and rarely performed) piece of music.

Only one month to get ready...
