I have been trying to look up some information on a clarinet serial number. It is stamped Evette (NOT Evette & Scheafer) by Buffet (NOT Buffet Crampon), Paris, and the serial number is c4284. It is wood. I know it has to be at least 30 years old, because it was mine when I was in school. I am passing it on to my daughter and would like to be able to tell her something about it.
All of the serial number searches I have found do not include the Evette's by Buffet. I gather from stuff I have read that it is a student model, similar to the E13's.
I would appreciate any help anyone could give me.

It is a student model, similar to the E11.
I overhauled many Evettes but none of them were 'C' series . I guess it's from the 40s or 50s. Please post a picture of the Upper-Joint. It would definitely help to determine approximate age of your clarinet.
BTW, Is it Evette 'by Buffet' or Evette 'sponsored by Buffet'?
