 fingerings

i was curious if there was a way to finger c# that would make it clearer. that is the c# normally fingered with the side key: <))_ thumb x x x `) o o o (x's are closed holes, o's are open, hope that makes sense)

There is only one primary fingering for C#4.

If your C4 is fine but the C#4 is stuffy, there is a good chance that that left pinky key is either not opening enough or the pad is too thick.

There is a good resonance fingering to improve the C#4 which you might try:

Finger C#4 in the traditional way and add the right pinky low E key...GBK

I just deleted my entire post, as it pretty much duplicated part of Gordon's response in the "Stuffy note" thread, which you should read (as I just did). It will help explain the problem.
