Eefer starting

As you can probably tell from the title, I am willing to dive into the so called "evil land of eefers". Well, sort of. Anyways, I am a total newbie so I am at square 1.

1) Where would be a possible place to find a nice Eb clarinet for a little more or less that $300? I guess that is quite a limiting budget, but I don't know anything, like I said. As of now, that is the most I can spend on an eefer.

2) My teacher does not trust anything but Buffets or Leblancs. It gets a little frustrating after a while. Are there any brands that she should be forced to look at? I've heard a lot of good things about Amatis and the price range is wonderful and calling me. I don't think there's anyway to convince her though. Any ideas?
