Which model of LeBlanc is it? And can you tell how old it is? I have a Symphonie (no number) Eb which is for me a surprisingly nice little instrument.

HI!
I am looking into buying an Eb clarinet myself. Buffet
is the best clarinet brand, but you pay for what you get, $2445 is a good price for one. If you aren't planning on playing this constantly, I would just get a good looking wooden clarinet with a good price. The cheapest one I have found new is an amati, for just under $700. I don't even want to pay that much for an off brand, so I am going to
search classifieds like at this site or www.ebay.com look up 'clarinet' if youre interested, not plural or you wont get anything. Good Luck!

I paid $500 for my Selmer Series 9 Eb.. I like it better than any of the new Buffet's (except for the RC Prestige model)... But if i were buying a new Eb, i'd have to go with a Patricola which is also several hundred dollars less than the R-13 Eb. And sounds and feels 20 times better.
Or i'd spend a couple hundred more and have Stephen Fox custom make one with a Patricola bore and what changes he'd have to make to accomodate the added vent keys to improve the tuning.
