I'm playing the solo clarinet part for one community band I'm in. And near the beginning I'm having trouble getting one certain run out. It's right where the melody for "I Feel Pretty" begins. It's eighth note Bb5, D6, then triplets F5, D5, Bb4, quarter F4 (if memory serves me right). I'm having trouble getting it all to sound smoothly (it's all slurred). The only way I can get it to sound smooth slurred is if I use the 1 and 1 Bb and continue from there, however the D to F still isn't that great (still a slight break before it responding sometimes). I've also tried it with tonguing the F, but was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to smooth this out every time. Thanks.

Well, your long-term problem is difficulty going between the clarion and altissimo registers. Just practice Bb to D, slowly and slurred, back and forth until you have the finger coordination and embouchure correct so there is no break in the sound. Then do the same from high D to top line F.
A quick fix would be to avoid the register problem and just finger the high D as an overblown open G - that way you play a clarion D and avoid the altissimo altogether. Leaving the side key down going from Bb to D may make it a bit more in tune.

Thanks. I just wasn't sure if there was any "tip" or "trick". I do have trouble with that when I have to quickly go from altissimo to clarion and sometimes the other way. Well, I have plenty of time to straighten that problem out. Thanks again.
