The History of the Clarinet - 2 CD set

Has anyone an opinion on the 2 CD set with a 60 page booklet entitled "The History of the Clarinet in Words and Music"?

I haven't heard it, but I generally don't care for albums that have a smattering of excerpts... I like to be able to hear a piece start to finish.

I have this .. I bought it for myself a few months ago. Personally (and it IS only my own personal opinion), I am very disappointed with it - I've played it a couple of times, read through the booklet (which, while informative, really isn't anything you couldn't find fairly easily on the Internet), and haven't listened to it since. I wasn't particularly impressed with the choice of music (nor the quality of some of it).

But as I say, this is just MY opinion, others may have really enjoyed it.

The set is made up of excerpts from other Clarinet Classics issues. IMHO, everyone should get everything CC has issued, particularly the historical material.
