 Clarion F-A tremolo
Author: Ralph G

Can anybody suggest a fingering for a tremolo/trill/deedle-deedle-deedle thingy on two alternating notes for clarion F and A? Or will I just have to lump it using the regular fingerings?

Muchos merci beaucoups for any help anyone can give.

That doesn't seem too tough to do, just a little bit of a coordination problem between left and right hands, but at least the fingers are going in the same direction. You could always grab an A clarinet and trill from F# to A#, moving only the left middle and ring fingers, if all else fails.

It's the last bar of the last number of a long and tiring wind symphony concert I'm playing in tonight. Don't know if I'll have much coordination to offer at that point, but I shall lump it as best I can. Thanks.e

An alternate way - with fingers moving in opposite direction.

Play the F5 with the standard fingering and the right pinky on the Eb/Ab key:

TR x x x / x o o Eb/Ab

Tremolo to A5 by lifting only the 3rd finger LH, but at the same time adding the RH sliver key. Fingers move in contrary motion.

Thus:
TR x x o / x o I o Eb/Ab

A little easier (?) - but nonetheless interesting...GBK
