My band is playing the final movement of Dvorak's "New World Symphony." There's a couple of measures where I have to go from A4 to B4 repeatedly on 16th notes.
I simply have been unable to use the standard fingering for B4 -- the first note (on a standard Boehm horn) of the clarion register. My smallish fingers just can't jam down those big bass keys fast enough.
I tried a trill fingering -- so B = A key + register key + second-from-the-top trill key. I can certainly finger it fast enough. But ugh, that B is so sharp that I clash with the Bb clarinets (second or thirds) that are playing the same notes.
Suggestions?

Do B4 with the standard position, hold your right hand on the horn while moving only thumb, 1st and 2nd fingers to do change from A4.
Try A4 (normal fingering) and use only the upper trill key, without pressing the second one.

I'm at work trying to visualize this without a horn handy, but does it work to hold the A key and use the top two r.h. side trill keys for the B?

The top two trill keys on bass clarinet are almost always set to open *far* to wide. If you adjust them properly, the B should be excellent -- much better than on a soprano clarinet.
At least on my Buffet bass, the standard beginner's trick of playing the A while keeping down the right hand and the lower two fingers of the left hand works fine.

Oooh, Ken, like the adjustment idea, regardless of what solution I end up adopting. Those trill keys do open mighty wide. I've always thought it rather freakish.

Can't you just use the top trill key plus the A key, doesn't that make a good B?
