new recordings

so my new cds just came, i bought one that has franklin cohen playing the mozart under dohnanyi with the cleveland orchestra and 2 others by Alessandro Carbonare. First, I think Cohen's rendition of the mozart is very imaginitive and i can only imagine that the liberties he takes with the piece are in the spirit of imagination and probably reminiscent of the general performance style of the period. Now with Carbonare's recordings i can't help but hear such a great similarity between he and Harold Wright, especially in the Mozart Quintet. Carbonare isn't using a vibrato but he does have a color to his sound that i've only heard in Wright's playing. It's beautiful but not shocking because i've grown accustomed to this style of playing due to my inundation with Wright recordings. I think i've gotten to the point where anything less then sublime isn't worth listening to, probably why i don't listen to my own recordings... LOL...
