After an hour or two of practicing, I swabbed out my clarinet (a Buffet R-13) and took it apart. There was quite a moisture buildup in the joints, so first I grabbed the bell and swung it to get the water out. I must not have been holding it very tightly, because I threw it on the floor. After a minor explative I picked it up, fearing the worst. Upon close inspection, I found a hairline crack that began at the end of the bell and seemed to go halfway up. I can just barely feel it with my fingernail, but it is almost invisible unless looked at closely.
I learned a valuable lesson: Never EVER get water out of the joints by flinging it!
I was lucky that it wasn't any of the other sections that I threw to the floor. Since the bell takes by far the least abuse and is the least important part, I do not think I need to repair it. But I think I learned my lesson just as well as if I had thrown one of the other sections.

You should bring it to a doctor.
No... but seriously, something tells me that the vibrations while playing might get it worse, but then again, i'm a guitarist I don't know anything about clarinets.
I hope for you it does'nt.

Yeah, believe it or not, just a minor one! I'm not at all a regular user of foul language, but I'm just as surprised as you that I didn't say something 10x worse than a mild "oh my god!". I was sure thinking it.

After reading this, I decided to try and play my clarinet without the bell. I never actually noticed a difference except that the cork grease I put on the end got onto my pants. Lol.
