I play a Leblanc LL and I tend to lean towards right pinky for C#s because my left ring finger sometimes lifts up when i use my left pinky for C#. This only happens to me on the smaller Leblanc keys. My fingers are on the long side. What is the proper positioning for my pinky as it hits the C# key (tip, curl finger, keep straight...?) This only became a problem when i moved over to the leblanc key system. ... this is not a complaint about Leblancs, I need to develop better finger technique

I press all keys and levers with the ball of my finger. The soft fleshy part on your fingertip. Sometimes certain manufacturers make this easier than others. And the size of people's hands differ very much also so I guess noone can utulize a "perfect" position. However for me, my clarinet is set up so I'm comfortable enough hitting all the keys. The key that gives me the most problems is the LH C key (I tend to slip off it when trying to hit it for some reason). Hopefully this won't be a problem on the new clarinet.
Although I don't see how your LH ring finger could be lifting up. If people can play the Eb soprano or even the Ab sopranino without worrying about their ring fingers lifting I don't see how you would have that problem with your Bb.
