Do you mean smear? That's the same as a gliss.
Because of its shape, it's easier to spear something ELSE with a clarinet. On occasion, I've been tempted to spear a bass drum head.

I have always taken a smear to be the act of bending on pitch into another rather than a quick sucession of pitches.

Do you mean bending a single note, or bending several together in a passage?
Portamento (or 'smear') involves a slack embouchure and less air to attack the note a bit flat, followed by a tightening to your normal embouchure with solid air support.
I think of using a spoon in ice cream (or Durian as your taste dictates).

PS - If you suffer carpal tunnel syndrome from contact juggling, you need
to get out of the house.
