I play with an amateur orchestra and we are putting on our winter concert shortly which includes Rach 2, Ravels Pavane pur enfant defunte and
Introduction to La Khovanschina by Moussorsky.
We are looking for Programme Notes for the Moussorsky and if anyone has anything suitable or can point me in the right direction I would be really grateful.

Try a Google search, but make sure you use the standard English spellings of the words. "Mussorgsky" for the composer, not "Moussorsky" which is a corruption of the French spelling. "Khovanshchina" for the opera. The weird-looking "shch" represents one letter in Russian. It sounds pretty weird too.
While we are about it, the Ravel is a pavane for an "infante" (a princess) not an "enfant" (a child).

I wouldn't search on the net for this, you might end up plagarising someone's work, and besides which, 99% of the stuff on the net is unverifiable crap. Go into your local library, grab the Groves' Dictionary, do some reading and then put it into your own words.
I've written program notes myself, find it quite challenging. I also try to look for other examples (contemporary composers, writters, scientists) just to put it all into perspective.

Diz makes an important point about the reliability of some of the (in this case) previously written program notes which can be found on various orchestra sites on the web.
As I write the program notes for our orchestra and as we will be doing the Dvorak Symphony #9 ("From the New World") on an upcoming concert, I recently did a quick search to read some previously written program notes.
Aside from the authors' opinions and impressions being different (as to be expected), what troubled me was the difference in the actual historical musical facts. These could have been easily checked in one of many primary sources, but apparently were not.
Thus, as diz suggests, do some reading in a few major biographical or historical texts and then write your own.
Chances are, it will be far better than what you can find on the web...GBK
