looking for an OLDER version of a Borbeck Bb #13.
anybody got one languishing under a sofa or gathering dust in the back of that VW Camper?
seriously, looking for a lead to a used one, etc.
have a call into Mr. Robert Borbeck as well.
thanks in advance for any info.

If you find two of them, I'll take the second one.

You have a Borbeck 13 in good condition from that era?
drool, drool...
That mp is still on my "wish list". Maybe I'll get it later this year for my birthday. I tried my pro instructor's 1970s era Borbeck 13 with a highly tailored Vandoren #3 V-12 reed and it was so much better than my Vandoren B45. All of the embouchure and playing problems I had vanished. The tone that I had with the obviously professionally tweaked and played Borbeck 13 and the tailored reed was superb, better than I had ever heard before.
Keep in mind that the Borbeck 13 isn't a panacea for all ills for everyone. All I know is that it's supposed to be equal to the Vandoren B45 for overall design and compatibility, yet be much better than the Vandoren B45 for workmanship. Also, I need to remind everyone that the particular mp that I played was tweaked a lot by a consumate professional clarinetist, so it was at the very top of its form. I shouldn't expect the same performance from the mp straight out of the box brand new.

interesting...I think Borbeck was living in PA at the time...it has a hand signature on it....I got a lot of six from him, and Wendy Brannen (Bill's first wife) helped me choose it....it got 20 years of very hard, continuous use, and could use a bit of tweaking...I'm getting in touch with Mattson for a tweak or re-face...I use a Gennusa now...it blows a bit more freely, but I really liked the brobeck resistance;;;sort of gave me a mouth full of tone sorry..not for sale
