Does anyone know why this site (www.orchestralclarinetist.com) was
"permanently" closed?

Bradley

My friends and I at school used to use it all the time.....

In a revolution, first thing you do is shut down the opposition's media.

Looks like the saxes have finally taken over, And I, for one, welcome our new goateed, espresso-swilling overlords.

Perhaps if the orchestral clarinettist site won't be back up again, Mark Charette could add another section to this site which would be similar, having clarinet job lisitings and important excerpts listed, etc?

Second the motion..........Plus, didja ever notice that the OC list of
playahs was outdated....it lists one lady as being in just about every orch in the US, and Philly was never updated, so G-d knos who else has relocated, died, translocated, beamed elsewhere or elsewhen.

The amount of effort in keeping that list up would be the equivalent of another full-time hobby for me ... Figure a minimum of 8 hours/week keeping things up to date.

Not enough time in my schedule (I'm over 1000 hours behind as it is in my current maintenance schedule).

If someone wants to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours/week, week in and week out, to keep a list up-to-date and accurate, along with ferreting out the new openings, just let me know.

Not to be mean, but college students need not apply. Your schedule tends to be too complicated to make this a steady piece of work (I have not had any luck with the students who have attempted to help in the past - good intentions, but finals, midterms, summer & winter breaks, and "real" work kept getting in the way of web work).

Hi Mark- I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for putting that side note to college kids. So often we are put to the side saying that we have "so much time" on our hands because we are just college kids. Thank you for realizing that we do have a lot on our plate. :)

If you want information on jobs, player lists etc. go to
http://www.musicalchairs.info
I think there used to be a link on Sneezy.
