There is for sale (you know where) an SML Paris Ebo-Tone clarinet that seems to be made of ebonite. There are some bent trill keys but I don't notice any other problems in the photos.

I have searched with Google and the wonderful new search tool here on the BB, but I got no hits on Ebo-Tone.

I know SML made some wonderful clarinets, but never heard of them using anything but grenadilla for their oboes, English horns, and clarinets. Could this be a stencil?

There was a time when professional-quality metal clarinets were made, since apparently the makers thought clarinets might change from grenadilla to metal as did flutes. Was there ever a time when makers thought ebonite was the material of the future?

Does anyone know anything about the Ebo-Tone?

 Thanks in advance,
 Ray

The SML "Marigaux" models are top notch.

I wouldn't spend money overhauling the other models...
(The modern Vito, Yamaha, and Selmer plastic models are better players... and you can get off the shelf parts.)
