I've been trouble with breathing correctly; I use the breath builder currently and was wondering if anyone has used the Power Lung www.powerlung.com. I want to get one but before I do I just wanna know what other clarinet players think about it. So, what do you guys think about it?

Have you ever consulted a teacher? They might have some ideas as well.

Power lung?
For exhale practice, you can blow up balloons or airbeds, or if you get 'the power' even hot water bottles. You can also play the clarinet! Or if there is no instrument handy, just blow hard through a really small flute embouchure.
For inhale, you can suck your drink through a too-thin straw. Or for a power workout, suck a thick-shake through the same straw. Or suck air in between your teeth.
Spending money on some flash gadget will not enable you to do the work-out any better.

I'm wondering if it could be harmful to use an appliance of any kind for increasing lung capacity. Playing the tenor sax seems to work in building lung capacity for me, since the clarinet needs so little air by comparison.

Not that I wish anyone should be ill. But low iron and folic acid could contribute to breathing issues. Something I have been dealing with for awhile.

This could be dangerous.
Talk to a scuba diver about the effects of air pressure on the lungs.
Also a doctor on the possible effects of vaccuum.
