 Drucker playing Pines of Rome

If anyone in the New York area was listening to 96.3 WQXR last thursday (when they broadcasted 'New York Philharmonic Live!') or happened to make it to Avery Fisher on Dec. 4-6, they would have heard the orchestra play the 'Fountains of Rome' as well as the 'Pines of Rome'.

I assume it is indeed Drucker that was the soloist in the big slow solo at the start of the third movement. I was pretty blown away by the tone he played with, even with the expectations that come w/ Drucker. But is it just me, or did he really seem to struggle with the leaps from throat A to clarion B?

In fact, there was a thread 2 months ago about this specific leap.

Can't say I've heard Drucker play it (I've never heard him play in my life) but whenever I listen to recordings of this piece, I'm often surprised at the poor standard of clarinet playing in this solo. Admittedly, most of the recordings I've heard are quite some years old, but still. Maybe some people don;t have such an eye for such details?
