I notice the Met are currently performing Strauss' Die Frau ohne Schatten (The woman without a shadow). This is a sublime score and has the most enormous array of clarinets ... well worth seeing just to peer into the pit and lust over the clarinets. The opening of the score features the clarinets playing a wonderful unison passage.
