Attachment added , O'Brien or Pomirico?

Can anyone identify the packaging for this mouthpiece? It is a Pete Fountain model that was sold by LeBlanc. I know all the new ones being sold are made by Pomirico for LeBlanc, but prior to that O'Brien was making them for LeBlanc. This person does not have a camera that can take good close ups so I can see the ribing on the sides which then I could tell. Can anyone identify the box this mouthpiece came in? The current ones from LeBlanc are shipped in a cardboard box with no clear plastic. See attachment.

Thanks - Jim

Jim. where is the attachment? I have several old O'B's, you might measure the diameter at the tenon and note the character of the bore and its junction with the baffle for comparisons with what we may have. There is a "mouthpiecework@Yahoogroups.com" site which might be able to help. Don

Thanx, Mark, Don

Jim, IMHO its almost certain to be an O'Brien-made glass-crystal, rather than a Pomarico, judging by the the character of the "flutes" along the body. My old Pom [marked GG] basses have only a few narrow-shallow flutes, my brand-new Pom alto cl has NO flutes. Your pic has the exact appearance as my O'B's. I doubt the flutes have any effect on sound [or strength], perhaps their function is to reduce mp weight, since glass, as I recall, is about twice as dense as hard rubber or plastics. Play it well, Don

Thanx, Mark, Don
