 altissimo F to G# trill
Author: CJB

I need to find a fingering (preferably before the rehearsal on this piece on Sat am!) for a trill from altissimo F to G#. I am wondering if the G# is a mistake as most of the trills in the piece are semitone trills but it is written explicitly on the part. Just to make sure this is really heard the composer has written it as fortissimo on the Eb part.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Play the F6 with the standard fingering:

TR o x x C#/G# / o o o Ab/Eb

Tremelo to Ab6 by lifting the 2nd and 3rd fingers. Thus:

TR o o o C#/G# / o o o Ab/Eb

You may wish to also keep the RH sliver key open (B/F#) for both notes as it will slightly raise the pitch...GBK
