I'm a clarinet player as well as a trombone player, and I read somewhere on a trombone method website about a technique used to strengthen embouchures, where you place a pencil on top of your teeth with your mouth closed, you tighten your lips around the pencil so that it sticks straight out and hold. Do you think that this might help some players with weak muscles? I'm just inquiring... just random thought.

I've come accross this method for saxophone. My sax teacher reckons its useful at times when you can't play, such as on holiday.
