Has anyone had experience with Tom Ridenoue Buffet R13 upgrades? If so, how does this operation improve the horn? Is the improvement all that noticable compared to a normal R13. Is the operation worth the money? How does this upgrade compare with other similar upgrade operations?

Tom R declined to work on one of my R13's saying, "There's nothing I can do for it". However, that was "way back" when he was still working for LeBlanc and pushing his Opus/Concerto clarinets. Before LeBlanc, Tom was a devout Buffet clarinetist and most likely has credable and extensive accoustical expertise to "tweek" your R13 as well. After all, the Concerto/Opus line is (according to TR) simply a compromise between the best qualities of Buffet and Selmer clarinets. Just wish he had been more willing with my old R13--but then I did eventually purchase a set of Concertos.

He's good, but at a high price.
Try Dave Spiegelthal, if you're looking for someone qualified without the prohibitive fine...
You may also wish to try the RC model from Buffet if tuning is your primary difficulty with your R13.
