I have a Buffet Crampon, #205522, made in Germany in 1980. The B&H website has a little history of the Buffet Crampon company, but it doesn't mention manufacturing in Germany. Do the German-made Buffets differ in any way from those made in France?

The German made instruments were made by Schreiber.
They are also the maker of the C-13 or 'International' models.
They differ substantially from the R13 model, actually made by Buffet.
I think that the Schreiber instruments have a straight, rather than policylindric bore design, and may also lack undercutting of the toneholes.

From the serial number, I think it is most likely that what you have is an E11. This is Buffet's student model. Those have been made in Germany since Buffet adopted the model designation around 1980 (to replace the Evette name). As you may know, they are Buffet's wooden student model instrument. There are some significant differences between the keywork of the E11 and the R13.

Thanks for the help. However, I'm a little (more than usually) confused. Checking the B&H Buffet serial # register, I get two answers for this #205522 query: (1)"Professinal clarinet" AND (2) "Student clarinet (B10,B12,E10,E11,E12)". Can you give me a couple of guides to compare the keywork that might point me in the correct direction?
BTW, it sounds nice and it feels nice.

I've bought a C E11 on August. Its serial number is 00040. the main keywork difference is that on the E11, some keys are soldered parts instead of one piece (for instance, the register key is made of one flat piece where you put your thumb, and another where the pad is placed)

On the Bb E11, the keys in the right-hand pinky cluster (Eb,C,C#,B) are smaller than the R13 (and most other standard clarinets). Also, on Buffet's professional models, the linkages at the end of the left-hand pinky keys for B and C# are pin and socket whereas they are simply overlapping levers on the E11.
