What is a V45 and how does it compare to a B45? Are these intermediate mouthpieces? Are they hard rubber or plastic???
Thanks

There seems no V45. Only V13 with a V at the top. You can ascertain this in products page of Vandoren.

Does Vandoren newly sell V45? I wonder.

I think there are no mouthpieces "for beginners" or "for intermediate clarinettists". Only good or bad, you like it or not, or it is suitable or not. By the way,If we continue to think ourselves novices or intermeditates, we stay as such. But if we think Reginald Kell can do this, then I must be able to. This is just what Reginald Kell thought listening to Jascha Heifetz.

What V means? RV=Robert Vandoren, B=Bernard Vandoren. So, V may be another guy's name of Vandoren familiy.

Vandoren produces hard rubber or crystal mouthpieces. No plastic. One thing. Hard rubber is a complex of rubber and binding materials and other. Its ingredient differs by blank manufacturers. It is proprietary info. You can see what effect mouthpiece materials can cause at here. See Ralph Morgan's article. Highly recommended.
