I dont recall the name, is there other info on it?. Is it wood, metal, plastic, what is it's condition, playable? What mouthpiece has it, sometimes the mp is "worth" more than the horn! Don

I'm probably wrong, but I think I read somewhere/sometime that "Manhattan" was a Selmer-USA student brand. I wouldn't bet a Kaspar mouthpiece on it, though.

Yure prob. rite, Dave, it might date back to Bundy's formation of Selmer US, in the late 20 to early 30's [read Selmer's history, Barb]. I helped a friend sell a good GWBundy on back, for about $200, your "guess" will be better than mine, I'm a soft-hearted [headed] collector, and have too many now!! Don

Maybe my memory is slipping, but I recall a metal Clarinet with a Manhattan skyline outline etched on the bell along with that name.

Undistinguished nickel or silver plated metal Clarinets generally sell for less than a hundred bux.

Regards,
John

JMcAulay, whose memory is definitely not slipping, is correct.

Manhattan metal clarinets were used in school band programs by the hundreds (thousands?). They did have the Manhattan skyline engraved on the bell.

Restorable but not valuable. Two recent ones were sold on eBay last year for $80 and $128...GBK
