Today, I just noticed that I was absent-mindedly scratching my clarinet case while I carried it around. The weird thing was that I was scractching it like it was some favorable dog or something... I don't suppose anyone else does this, right? Have I gone mad?

Well, my Pro-Tec double case does have dog hair all over it, so I'm halfway there to moose's insanity level.

Canadians would remember Don Messer - he was famous for his television program of many years called "Don Messer's Jubilee". He had a peculiar habit of absent-mindedly rubbing his thumb along the bottom of the face of the violin when he wasn't playing. During a recent concert Frank Leahy, who was given the violin by Don's daughter, showed us the bare spot that was left. These are just little quirks, aren't they? How important is it that people don't notice?
