wondering if anyone else watched part 1 of Pbs's version of Dr. Zhivago last night (apperantly a diff. version from the previous release of the movie, which I have never seen...)
There was alot of great little music scenes in the film...cafe's, dances...alot of violin, and some very nice clarinet as well...kind of a -clean- gypsy sound to the music...not sure if it was authentic russian music of the time or not.
part 2 airs next sunday night.

Just saw the opening then tuned out. I wonder if it followed the book more closely than "THE" movie.

I fell asleep. My wife watched it and I will have to talk to her about it. She is supposed to be well trained in identifying clarinet music and under strict instructions to wake me. (as a bonus, she is to say" it sounds just like you") Maybe the dissimilarly between what was on the tube and what I produce threw her off a little.
