 Shared viola & clarinet music

Hello! Besides sharing the Brahms Sonatas, does anyone know of any other pieces that both the clarinet and viola share or steal from each others repertoire? I am familiar with pieces they play together (trios, etc.), but is there any other music like the Brahms where it is recorded and performed by both?
Thanks!!!

There is a Trio by Khatchaturian for clarinet, violin, and piano that comes with a substitute viola part. I don't know how often it's done either way though...

HPM - Brahms' sonatas are not a good point as the viola part (transcription) was authorised by Brahms himself. I think there's an erroneous assumption that as both clarinet and viola have almost identical ranges then one should cross-over easily (the fact that they both have diverse techniques seems to be forgotten). I note also that Brahms' treatment of the viola part is a reworking to suit the viola - not merely a transcription and boy, Brahms sure knew how to write for the viola (as he did the clarinet).

Marion Bauer's Sonata (American composer from the first half of the 20th century). Probably originally written for viola.

Egon Kornauth - Sonata Op.3 in C# (1913) was originally for viola, but is often performed on clarinet (in A).

Also (and I hesitate to even mention it), there have been performances (and at least one recording) of Schubert's Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (The Shepherd on the Rock) performed as a clarinet/viola/piano trio, with the viola taking the place of the soprano voice...GBK

Arthur Benjamin's Le Tombeau de Ravel was written for viola and was later published in a version for clarinet.

I was so annoyed by the fact that international music company had a transcribed viola part that went with Mozart's quintet when I bought it;

Tom, the Gade Fantasy Pieces are for clarinet or violin. I played it in a concert two weeks ago and i wonder why this composition is not played more often. Sarah

Schumann Fantasy Pieces.

I believe this and the Brahms sonatas count, even if they were authorized by the composer. The composer still wrote them originally for clarinet.

Why not share a whole piece with a Viola and play Max Bruch's Concerto for Clarinet & Viola In E Minor, Op.88

Lots of fun and a great piece that doesnt get played nearly enough in my view!

We saw/heard the Bruch double concerto last Saturday in Bristol, in an excellent performance by a good amateur orchestra. I agree - it should be played more!

I've heard (and heard of) quite a few performances of Wilson Osborne's Rhapsody on viola.

Yo-Yo Ma had also performed the Bernstein Sonata (although he plays the cello, and not the viola...).

Also, the Osborne Rhapsody was originally written for bassoon, if I'm not mistaken.
