 Hans Zinner crystal mouthpieces
Author: icecoke12

I have heard much about vandoren, o'brien and pomarico crystals mouthpieces.

May I know if anyone owns or has tried the crystal mouthpieces produced by the Hans Zinner company? I saw pictures of them at their website. They sell both finished crystal mouthpieces and crystal blanks.

I have always heard much praise about their hard rubber blanks and I wonder how good their crystals are compared to others.

Was browsing the boards and saw this post. I wanna know if anyone has tried them NOW (since no one answered before) and thoughts based on those and other zinner mpcs. I'm interested myself to hear the results. Hope this 'bump' is allowed. (Sorry mark if it's not!)

I use rubber Zinners which both grooved German with German facings. I have a green one, J95 facing, and a black harder rubber one faced S90. Those numbers do not corrspond to any known measurement as the 95 is faced at about 115 and the 90 is about 105. The J facing is longer than the S. I use a string lig on both and they are played on Yamaha or Uebel Oehler systems. I use the green one the most. Can't help with the crystal.

IMS (International Musical Suppliers) is the U.S. Importer for ZINNER. Period. If you are in the U.S. & contact Zinner, they will refer you to IMS & back to Zinner website (which probably brought you to ask question in the 1st place). If IMS stocks it, you can try it/buy it. [ There are also European woodwind dealers who may stock it & will ship to you in the U.S. - have no idea if that violates their agreement with Zinner. As to the latter, Matthews Music is a reputable dealer, Saxfoonwinkel used to be - have lost track of them.] mw
