I recently got a Morgan Mouthpiece measuring kit which includes all the devices needed to measure the facing and tip. I noticed that a couple of the feeler gauges where slightly bent (mainly the thicker ones). Is this normal, or should all the feeler gauges be as flat/strait as possible?
If neccesary, Is there somewhere where I may be able to get additional/replacement feeler gauges without having to exchange the whole refacing kit?

Check a hardware or autoparts place. They use feeler gauges for gapping spark plugs among other things. You can buy a set and take out those you want. You can go on line to sears.com and see what they have. I am assuming that you will find all of the sizes you need.

Except for a special type of gauge that measures the tip opening in the middle (which is usually slightly curved), all the strips should be flat. I would get in touch with Morgan and get a perfect set.
Any auto parts store will have gauge sets graduated in .001"
Best regards.

If you are serious about getting into mouthpiece facing/refacing , measurement etc, I suggest you join the "MouthpieceWork@YahooGroups.com" where you can get expert advice re: this and other problems. I lurk there. Don
