See Katrina's question. Value? In my opinion, about $20.00 used (not abused).

The ligature came with the mouthpiece? I had to purchase an inverted ligature for an additional $25
I bought the B45 for $80, the normal price at that store though is $100

RV means Robert Van Doren. B means Bernard Van Doren. I think.
Around 1935, RV produced 5RV and around 1965 it started to produce new mouthpieces with B45 as its design basis with a new precision machines.Vandoren's home page says like that.
However, when I first obtained there is only 2RV no 5RV. This is true. So, I sent an e-mail what 2 or 5 means to Vandoren. Let's see what happens.
By the way,in Vandoren's player page I found Jonathan Cohler uses B45 lire,V12-#3,and Rossi clarinet. He uses a little thinner reed than I anticipated(I do not mean 'expected'.)

Yes, the 2RV is usually a pretty good mouthpiece. I prefer it to the B45.

Its a damn fine piece. Value-about $20-$25used-$40new. As to the size. If its what you like to play ok. If you can't play it or don't like the way it plays, value-$0.
