 Intrinsic value vs cachet

Well, I think the thread that got the axe was spilling the beans bout a certain mouthpiece that drew 1700 bucks on online auction.

Now if it aint what it is cracked up to be....then someone got themselves a really costly RRDS*

I guess the going rate for Kaspars etc is nearly 5 C notes, and the Cheds WERE fetching a bit more...BUT this takes the cake.

Frankly. I know someone who makes NEW ones at 1/8 th the price that play great....Caveat emptor.

Most, if not all, of these mpcs will require some 'tuning' from a competent refacer to reach their full potential.

For the same amount of money, a player may purchase from a living maker.

Me? I'm sticking to the $65 mouthpiece Dan Johnston made.

I've sold four Kaspar Ciceros to the same player, who performs on his Vandoren M30... go figure.
